Better known as the Plains of Abraham, this is one of Quebec City's most popular parks and historical attractions. Commemorating the daring 1759 attack in which Quebec fell to the British under the leadership of General Wolfe, the park features two striking Martello Towers offering rotating displays and great views over the St Lawrence River. The interpretive center is housed in the Musée du Québec.NYC Best Hotel Deals: 50% Savings In New York! Experience New York At It's Finest!JustClickLocal.comAlaska – it’s HOT! Carnaval de Québec
Jan 29th, 2010 to Feb 14th, 2010
Known far and wide as one of the world's great parties, Carnaval de Québec's annual bash in the mid-winter cold attracts thousands from around the world. Bonhomme the Snowman presides over 17 days of ice sculptures, dog sledding, boat races on the semi-frozen Saint Lawrence River, parades, and all manner of less wholesome carousing. Revelers roam the city drinking caribou, a potent blend of red wine and grain alcohol from canes. The Ice Palace, just across from the Parliament Buildings, is the festival's headquarters.
