Back to Henry Clay Inn A gem - Once upon a time My husband and I just returned from a 3-night stay at this Inn. While it was once, I'm sure, an elegant, charming, beautiful gem, it is in need of a major facelift. On the plus side, it is fabulously located - literally across the street from Randolph Macon College, close to a couple of great eating places (one casual, one more formal), 2 blocks from the local library, about 3 miles from Interstate 95. We were told the in-house restaurant was very, very good, also, but we chose not to eat there.

Charming, comfortable, friendly....the list goes on. We really enjoyed dining on the front porch overlooking the railroad and college. A great overall experience.
