Awesome food with an exciting atmoshpere
My wife and I have chosen Las Casuelas as a date spot when we want to getaway for great food and fun entertainment. The food is as authentic as it comes! My wife and I usually indulge with the two (2) item combo platter which comes with over 100,000 possible combinations from authentic tomales and enchiladas to huge burritos and tasty tacos. For example, you can order a burrito and an enchilada which comes with refried or black beans and spanish rice; one would find it difficult to finish an entire meal. And if you are having drinks, this meal can even be split reducing your bill even more for those on a budget. There are many Mexican restaurants to choose from, but dining at Las Casuelas helps you understand what authentic Mexican food is all about. They have been cooking these great recipes since 1953 and have chosen to share them with the public. I have already recommended this place to over 40 people as I want them to experience what my wife and I experienced and maybe we will see some familiar faces at our favorite date spot.

Bad cheap food for a lot of money
We ordered chicken enchilada suizas at this restaurant. We expected a typically saucy enchilada plate prepared in traditional white sauce containing three cheeses, instead we got dry chicken burritos in corn tortillas fried in green sauce, three threads of cheese and a spoon of sour cream. The chicken tasted like fish. The waiter said this is how they prepare enchilada suizas, but it's like stuffing turkey in a pita bread and calling it a hamburger. It was not even close to the real thing. It was a very expensive cheap imitation of enchilada suizas. We returned our plates. My mother ordered a lemonade, it tasted like instant powdered drink. Very expensive, but very cheap food.

Lots of fun!
The place was hopping with people, celebrities, locals, tourists and we were right in the middle of it - two people all the way from New Hampshire cutting up the dance floor. The band was great - the drinks and snacks were great. The people were great - interesting to watch for sure. Hot Rox was the name of the band (I think). They were great for the "older" crowd --not so much for the 20 somethings!

well, we didnt eat but i sure saw those scrumptious plates in the dining room. we hung out at the banana bar trying out every margarita version, listening to the dance music and just having a wonderful time. you kinda feel like you are on a beach vacation somewhere, a sweet exotic oasis. the place rocks! it was my and my now deceased fiance's hangout when in town.

Come for the Food - Stay for the Fiesta !
When in Palm Springs, my husband and I always eat at one of the Las Casuelas restaurants - they have several in the area. This one, Terraza, was the best! We have always loved the food, but Terraza has great food, a wonderful atmosphere and decor - like being in old Mexico - and a great band ! The tacos are great, as are the margaritas, of course. We had great service. Sat in a recessed booth near the dance floor and band stand, but private. The food and salsas were excellent. After we ate, we moved over to the bar area right in front of the band, and listened for awhile. When the band took a break, one of the guitarists worked the crowd for requests, which I thought was great. The band was expert in 60's and 70's oldies. They got us dancing to amazing covers of the Eagles, the Stones and the Grateful Dead. Go for the Food and stay for the Fiesta ! We loved it.

Expensive Mexican Food
I went to Las Casuelas Terraza in Palm Springs last week with a friend. I was not impressed. I ordered a large bowl of Albondiga soup and got a small bowl with only 2 small meatballs and no vegetables in lukewarm broth. I was charged $6.50 for this meal, which did not include my beverage. Have you ever gone to a real Mexican restaurant? Not only do you get a large bowl of soup with plenty of meatballs and chunky vegetables, but they throw in at least 2 tortillas with their meal, which is cutomary in the Hispanic culture! At Casuelas, a toritilla costs extra! The service was rushed as well. I will never go back there again!

Poor and Unfriendly Service
During a retreat for my organization we decided to dine at what appeared to be a fine establishment. However, the service was horrible, the staff was not attentive and the management was unkind. After an unpleasant experience we tried to notify the management but they were uncooperative and gave us the run-around. It seems that there is lack of communication between their management staff. When we went to finalize a deal for our large group, management never followed up with paper work and were inconsistent with pricing. After attempting to follow up to confirm our reservation the management told us "you can take your business elsewhere". I am very disappointed in their lack of follow through and customer service and I do not recommend this restaurant to anybody. An Unhappy and Disappointed Customer
