Reviewed by: Sarah from on Mar 15 2009 Can't wait to visit Flagstaff again I really enjoyed driving on Route 66 and the people are absolutely great and the NAU girls all look like they could be models and you'll be able to catch a glimpse of them whenever they're jogging in the Downtown area.
Reviewed by: The Novelist from on Jan 26 2009 Flagstaff - my home town! As a native of Flagstaff, I am very disappointed that the Nativity Catholic Church (Beaver St./Cherry St.) was not featured in the "historic" pictures of Flagstaff. The church was built in the 1920's and is an exact replica of a church in France. The architecture includes stunning stained glass windows and it has been designated a National Historic Landmark building. Nativity School (across the street) is where I went to grade school, taught by the Sisters of Loretto. Someone really missed the boat on this one!!!! Pioneer families including the Dolans and Babbitts were instramental in the design, funding and building of this stunning Flagstaff landmark and the original grade school (St. Anthony's) across the street.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 03 2008 We really enjoyed Flagstaff. Great place to visit. Fun atmosphere. Lots to see. Word of warning, though, if you are hungry, sit down right away at your food establishment of choice. From the time the food is ordered, to the time it hits your table, takes a bit of time. We were famished!! Must go along with that laid back attitude of Downtown Flagstaff.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 08 2007 Great Place to Experience Flagstaff Well, I live here in Flagstaff and downtown is my first place to go when we are ready for some nightlife, a meal or a nice walk. Great local restaraunts, coffee shops, shops and bars. Also the buildings retain much of their historic feel. Very walkable. Keep going through the adjoining neighborhoods to see very cute old houses.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 23 2006 Unique shops, but overall average Some of the shops there sell indian pottery, blackets, and other realated items but the price is allittle higher than if you went to some of the nearby indian settlements.
Reviewed by: GREG S from on Apr 10 2006 Nice place to be Downtown Flagstaff is a nice place to be...there are several local breweries (Mogollan, Flag Brew and Beaver Street Brewery) within walking; cool little shops and restaurants; very nice views of the San Francisco Peaks and all the Ponderosa Pines. Warning to you...the train she keeps-a-coming, but it adds to the ambiance. Look for cowboys, indians, old hippies and few college students (since this is the residential college town of Arizona--NAU). Enjoy!
