Nice hotel
We stayed here for 4 nights in July and the hotel itself is lovely. However, upon arrival we were told that due to unforeseen circumstances, the Brant Point Grill would be closed for the next three days, so there was no hot food on site. They did put out a continental breakfast and boxed lunches which were decent. The also gave us a $100 gift certificate to dine at one of their other properties. However, they did not tell us that taking the shuttle boat to get there would be $25 each or that the drink we were offered on that boat would be $20 each, therefore cutting what we thought was $100 down to $10.

Going back
Were there 2 years ago and will be going back this year. Hotel was perfect; good location, quite and peaceful, beautiful rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Restaurant varied - ate dinner there one night and it was great (worht the price), went back a second time and it wasn't that good (definitely not worth the price).

Find a quieter spot on the Island
Our chief complaint with this hotel is that the walls are paper thin. We stayed there this past September in Room 3-254 and could here the man snoring loudly in the room next to ours. For $750 per night (plus tax), I should not have to listen to my neighbor snore -- or even his conversations with his significant other/wife the next morning. After we complained, the hotel offered to move us to the only room open that day -- a similar room down the hall. But there was no assurance that we wouldn't have the same problem. Rather than repacking all our stuff to move, we decided to stay put. My husband solved part of the problem by leaving a note under the neighbor's door asking him to sleep on his side or stomach. (it seemed to work). We were offered no compensation at all and my complaint letter to the manager remains unresponded to a month later.

This place was amazing. Free continental breakfast everyday, the beach can be seen from the hotel, so many free amenities this is worth every penny

We didn't want to leave!
We stayed at the White Elephant for our anniversary (first time to Nantucket). It was excellent in every way. A very relaxing atmosphere and not confining like an inn. We are going back in the fall, can't wait.
