Built in 1982, this huge block is one of the hottest venues in the town where, year-round, activities revolve around tourism, international festivals and conferences. The sand-coloured, futuristic Palais des Festivals, which marks the end of the beaches on La Croisette and the beginning of the old port. It is always a whirl of activity, no matter what time of year, hosting events such as the international music trade show MIDEM, MIPTV (International Television Programme Market) and the world-renowned Cannes Film Festival. Inside there’s 24,000m² worth of exhibition space and an auditorium with seating for 2,300 people, a casino, fruit machines, and Jimmy'z nightclub.
