Back to Uluwatu The Best Ways to go Returned last week after two weeks in the land of the gods! It has taken us this long to admit that our Bali experience has ended. We travelled with another couple, my mum and our two kids aged 3 and 5. Mum and I have been to Bali many times but it was ten years since I had been due to marriage and kids etc. What a sensational time we had. Kids loved the locals - swimming every day, motor bike rides, cheese jaffles and lots of fun. Highlights were Safari Park with all animals close up and water park Probably kids favorite. Waterbom Park also a hit as they had kids water slides we put a life jacket on little one and she could come down slides on her own without her head going under which was fantastic. We also visited the crocodile park which was a big letdown it's licence is nearly expired so not much left there and very run down.

Reviewed by: Geraldine from on Aug 01 2008 It was OK My wife and I were probably just unlucky in our timing (1st week of Nov.) in that we were in Bali for 8 days and never once saw a sunset, including the time that we went to Uluwatu. The temple, itself, is nothing to see, but the cliffside location is nice. Having seen several dances (including kecak) in Ubud, we passed on the one in Uluwatu. We had no monkey incidents, but kept alert for them. I suppose a nice sunset would have added a lot to the experience. However, pound for pound, I believe the east coast of Taiwan and a few other areas of Taiwan (e.g. Penghu or Jade Mountain) can hold their own against anything that we saw in Bali (especially since you can enjoy them without the "natural beauty" of peddlers).

Reviewed by: Karel W from on Aug 02 2007 Tips on the monkeys.... The view is definately breath taking except the MONKEYS of course.... actually i have no bad encounter with them, as i was advised earlier by my tour guide, of not to wear sunglasses, jewellery or other 'attractive' stuff. they just sat there and stare as we passed by because there was nothing to snatch. yes... another thing is do not hold your hands tight in a fist, as the monkeys might think you were hiding something in your hand. last but not least, do not tease the monkeys or provoke them in any way.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 15 2007 All tourism attraction in 1 place! I like the fact that by going there 1 time I was able to see them all: the Temples, the path on top of the hills (it looks like a miniature of the Great Wall in China), the monkeys, the Kecak Dance and of course the wonderful sunset.
