Save your money
its small, it'll cost you $16 a person and you'll be in and out in about an hour. take your hard earned money and check out the plantations or take a carriage tour downtown.

SoSo
The aquarium is a tourist trap to be sure. Not a lot to see there that you can't see in other aquariums. Expensive for adults to enter. Go other places. Fort Sumter, Patriots Point and all.

Great time, but wish there was more!
All aquariums are usually pretty expensive, which is no different from this one so if you don't want to spend money, this isn't the place to go. The aquarium is located right on the wharf where you can see cruise ships, the USS Yorktown, bridges, etc. It's great! My boyfriend and I love aquariums and although this one is smaller, we had a wonderful time. They have a great freshwater exhibit as well as a huge ocean tank and even outdoor exhibits. They have a touch tank, which is pretty standard, but I felt like the people that worked there were all so enthusiastic about their jobs. We got there right as it opened to avoid crowds and large groups of children and it really was the perfect time to get there. Our only complaint was that we wished there was more to see! We had a great time and didn't want it to end.

Not Worth the trip
The aquarium is way overpriced for what they offer. It is too small with not much to look at or enjoy. My family was really disappointed when we went through it. We were in and out in like 25 minutes. I definitely wouldn't recommend going here with high hopes.

NOT MUCH TO SEE
My wife and I visited the aquarium on her birthday and the experience was good but there was not much to see and the price was a little high. There was a discount for SC residents which we felt should have been for out of towners instead. I think our 7 year old would have enjoyed it but for the older folks more needs to be added.

Overpriced
We've been to the aquarium many times over the past few years. It is nice, but incredibly overpriced. It is not very big & doesn't take you long at all to walk through. Not nearly enough activities for children. I think we had a better time out on the back sidewalk overlooking the harbor than anything else. When the IMAX was still open, this made for a good afternoon, but now I definitiely would not pay the aquarium admission price. Bad value.

More for younger audiance
I've been to the aquarium dozens of times. The first time was with a church youth group (all of us teenagers). We had taken a trip from the Upstate of SC to the low country for a weekend away. While it was enjoyable and got us out of the hot and humid Charleston weather, the exhibits seemed aimed towards children then young adults. However, everytime I go with my girlfriends, we always make a stop at the aquarium, because my girlfriend, Kira, loves the ocean and it's creatures.

Kids Love It!
There was so much for the little guys to see and do. They loved the new Camp Carolina exhibit -- we had to pry them out of it. Very interactive. The big tank was something to behold, too. Not the world's largest aquarium, but 90 minutes of fun made it all worthwhile.

A fun hour
Very small indeed and not worth what is charged to get in ($17.00 an adult, $10.00 a child). You can use your Greenbacks if you want. Nice views of all animals but not alot to look at. Overall it's good for about an hour worth of fun if that.

Not The Best!
The S.C Aquarium is an O.K place to visit but it is very expensive, not only is it costly but it is small there is not much for the kids to interact with, more hands on functions would be nice also some kind of guide at the touch tank would be nice so they can explain to the kids the animals and their habitat. it's not very educational. I just expected way more for the price. I was some what disapointed, my children and I have only been once due to the lack of....
