Back to Saint Paul Hotel (The) Home away from home... If you gotta be away from home, this is teh place to be... best thing I like is the 2nd floor, smoking. It's at roof level, over the conference rooms or lobby maybe, but all gravel, so it's almost like having a deck or something. Grilling would a wonderful idea, but probably wouldn't go over well.

Reviewed by: AdamR from on Jul 24 2006 I will never go back The St. Paul has a wonderful reputation but the service we got there was poor. We stayed 2 nights and another customers baggage delivered to our room and later were locked out of our room when she checked out. I stepped on a shirt pin in the carpet. In their favor, they offered us a free nights stay in the next year. After our experience there, we chose not to use it.
Reviewed by: laurelartist from on Dec 30 2005 Quiet Competence Elegant without being ostentatious, the St. Paul is a local landmark and the finest hotel in St. Paul. The rooms are comfortable though the sizes are restricted by the older architecture of the hotel (a plus!). It is now being renovated but thankfully the St. Paul Grill is being left unchanged. This is the place where St. Paul's movers and shakers meet and it is arguably the best place for Steak for hundreds of miles around. Brunch is popular for good reason: nearly everything is tasty, the service usually very good and the environment loud but fun. There is nothing as grand in the old style to be found anywhere else in the Twin Cities. The downtown St. Paul location is handy and there is speedy access by car to both MSP International Airport and downtown Minneapolis.
