Al-Sadu is a heritage structure, integral to the preservation of the Bedouin and Kuwaiti handmade industries. Al-Sadu is representative of weaving as well as the loom itself. Traditionally the women folk of the nomads would virtually spin out their tents and the furnishings on their hand looms. This wool weaving has been a vital part of Bedouin life and culture. The Al-Sadu project and later the Al-Sadu Cooperative Society were established in order to curb the endangerment of these precious crafts. Come and see the techniques, patterns and designs of these colorful and intricate weavings. Visitors can come over and learn more about this Kuwaiti heritage through talks, courses and workshops.
