ZERO STARS
Hotel room dated and dingy, spiders in the bathroom every day and a dead one was on the "clean" sheet. Fan doesn't work in bathroom and a dirty looking "air conditioner" spits out moldy-meldewy dusty air. Gross. Every morning a car alarm went off at 5am - the parking lot was between us and our view of the bay.

Don't do it!!!!!!!!
Room 131. When you sit down at the vanity be careful you don't fall through the seat. The floor by the bed is raised up, not sure what's underneath it, and don't want to know. There is a hole in the wall covered up by wallpaper. Don't even think about being able to regulate the water temperature in the shower. Don't believe what you see on the website, very deceiving. The only positive thing is the view of the Bay.

Fantastic!
For the location, price and service you can't get a better deal that this! My fiancee and I stayed in a Bay-view king bed room. The room was very spacious and had a small kitchen. The view was great and the room was very clean. I was very happy with the front-desk service as well. The bar is a fun place to hang-out with friendly staff and good entertainment. I definately recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay at a very nice hotel for a great price!

Not exactly a "Resort"
Bahia lacked the many qualities you would expect in a Resort. The location however is ideal with just a short walk to the ocean and many restaurants. It is also a very short trip to the zoo and Sea World. So if you go.... plan to do a lot away from the "resort" because there isn't much there.

Love San Diego
This was our first time coming to San Diego it was so beautiful. I have read several comments about Bahia Resort but wanted to see this resort first hand. The pictures that are on the website are the newly remodeled rooms so make sure you get one of those rooms. The staff was very nice and helpful. We stayed Sunday to Sunday which we noticed on the weekends there was way more traffic (Weddings and Parties). We stayed in the front part were you first drive in which has a public beach so you hear a lot of traffic noise and people talking while walking by. Bahia Resort is walking distance to Belmont Park which is like Santa Cruz Beach Board Walk (Not As good) but fun. Overall I had a great time not sure if I would stay again because of the noise issue.

A huge disappointment!!
Oh how I wish we had read reviews of this place! We are from the UK and had spent 2 weeks driving from San Francisco to San Diego, staying at 7 previous hotels along Highway 1. We had asked our Travel agent to book us something really special to finish off our holiday after the long journey and The Bahia was the one she chose. We looked at the website and it looked so luxurious...how deceiving that was!!

very disappointing
I felt like crying when we walked into our bayside room. It smelled horrible, the bed was uncomfortable and the cinder block walls were an eyesore. It is motel 6 quality, definately not worth the price.YUCK!

Ideal place for real families
Our family has been visiting this hotel since the early eighties and have always enjoyed the atmosphere surrounding this great hotel. From the setting, to the weather, to the curteous staff, you can't go wrong vacationing with the family at the Bahia. Boating...bike-riding...sandy beach...pool...jacuzzi...playground...tennis courts...work-out room...the Zoo close by...Sea World around the corner...themed dinner nights...access to several other hotels on the bay via boat...camping out in front of your bungalo...priceless !!! This hotel is made to order for the active family that likes to play either indoors or outdoors. If your little pinky finger must point to the sky while eating go somewhere else we don't need you !!!

horrible! Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
The rooms were very outdated. The railing on the stairs and the balconies are not up to current standards, very scary if you have young children.
