If you are in the mood for a thrilling outdoor adventure that still leaves you feeling relaxed, look into taking a ride aboard a dogsled. Mountain Mushers is the Valley's oldest family owned and operated dogsled company, and boasts private trails on 10,000 acres away from the hum of snowmobile engines. Each sled is drawn by 10-12 friendly huskies, who are more than ready to greet each rider with a kiss. They run two tours each day, with up to five sleds carrying two people each. Make sure to pack a camera and catch a picture of the scenic Vail landscape. Mountain Mushers also provides hot chocolate and fresh snacks midway through the run, so you can warm up before trying you luck as a 'musher' yourself! There is a shuttle service that takes you from downtown Vail into the mountains, and call or check the website for details and reservations.
