Chinois opened in 1983 and offers fusion delights - Asian dishes created with Californian produce and French culinary techniques. The space was designed by Barbara Lazaroff and includes an open kitchen and colorful decor. The menu is "family-style," which means generous portions of dishes such as whole sizzling catfish with ponzu dipping sauce, shanghai lobster, and Chinois chicken salad and Mongolian lamb with cilantro-mint vinaigrette. They also offer a unique wine list, seasonal dessert and market specials, and a private dining room.
