The Franco-American Centre, or Le Centre Franco-Americain, provides numerous cultural programs and events throughout the year aimed at preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the French in the area. Besides the programs, the building also houses some great works of art in the Beliveau Fine Arts Gallery and a library and bookstore. Held once a month on a Wednesday, Cinema Mardi is hosted by Franco-American Centre. As a group that aims to promote French culture, movies are an excellent way of showcasing the culture in an interesting an entertaining way. The film plays twice, once during the afternoon and once in the evening so people with different schedules can all attend. See the website for specifics as to which movie will be playing, the movies are usually posted a couple of months ahead of the showing.
