Back to Metropolitan Hotel Great hotel! I loved the hotel...great location, close to the Eaton centre in addition to the public transit system. Excellent and clean hotel rooms and excellent service.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 24 2006 Small rooms but great location The best thing about the Met is where it's situated -- about midway walking distance between Chinatown (Cafe 688 is a great restaurant) and Yonge Street (great shopping). When we got there, we were immediately upgraded to a nicer room -- which was a nice surprise. It was a corner room with a great view of Toronto. The room was small, but all the appointments were nicely done (even though there was a small stain on our fabric headboard). Even the elevators were nicely decorated with Asian fabrics encased in glass.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 08 2006 4 Stars Stayed 2 nights and it was very nice, not the cleanest, but the service was great. The staff was very helpful on where to go and what to see in Toronto. The room was small, but cozy and the beds were very comfortable. The pool wasn't very deep and the health club was small with faulty machines, but the jacuzzi and sauna were very nice and relaxing.
Reviewed by: Christian from on Aug 30 2006 Absolutely Disappointing My boyfriend and I are both law students with loans, and as such were just delighted when we saw a great per night rate at a 4-star hotel in Toronto. Too good to be true? But, of course! Other than the hotel being basically in Chinatown, the check-in procedure was unnecessarily long and the staff was discourteous, inattentive, and uninformative throughout our entire stay. The rooms were extremely tiny, not exactly the cleanest, the iron & board were just strewn across the floor, the towels were rough, the linens were not as portrayed, the air conditioner shakes the room at night every time it restarts, and a staffer comes to check whether you have used the mini bar each morning around 8:30am. On to the pool area, letÂ’s just say that we are hoping that the abundance of hair floating in the foam of the hot tub was chest hair. The electronic check-out did not work, and the staffer who checked us out was rude and did not ask us about nor thank us for our stay.

Reviewed by: creamycat from on Jul 27 2006 Metropolitan-Toronto room quite small and tired/worn. Good location in the city. Staff very friendly and polite. OK gym, freezing cold pool but brilliant spa (must be 4'+ deep in the middle !)
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 18 2006 Wouldn't be my first choice. The location of the Hotel is quite good. It's close to the Eaton Centre and Queen Street shops. It is about a 15 minute walk to the CN Tower area.
