Museum of Science Visit
We went to see the iMax movie "Antarctica" and the Harry Potter exhibit. Both were excellent. The museum is an under-appreciated gem in Boston. Although we live 70 miles away, we make the trip every other month to see a movie, go through the exhibits, and learn new things. The museum works hard to make interesting exhibits and to make science more accessible to all. It was well organized and fun. I saw kids of all ages, from 5 year olds to teenagers enjoying themselves.

Harry Potter at Museum of Science
You get to enter the world of Hogwarts and see tons of props. Volunteer to be sorted into a house--only 3 or 4 get sorted and be sure to linger if you want to see the train. The number of items is just about right for a group. We were 4 twelve-year olds and one mom on an odd school vacation day. It took the kids about 35 minutes to see all the displays. They were slightly disappointed that there were few interactive displays....they do get to throw a quaffle through a Quidditch hoop and pluck a mandrake. The lighting is superb and you do suspend disbelief. Many of the wands are on display--who knew they were soooo different. The big surprise was the dumpout into the gift shop/Diagon Alley. Just about everything on display had a counterpart or more or less offered for sale at quite the markup. It was so high a markup, even the 12-year olds were willing to walk away from some of the products: $30 for a skinny tee that said Muggle. I was really glad we were members so that the tix for this special exhibit were only 5 bucks each and we did escape the gift shop, shelling out $22.00 for a Gryffindor silk tie for dad for Christmas.

Nice place to visit,an even better place to learn
The exhibits are absolutely dynamite. The only thing I don't like about this museum is that its winter exhibit hours are too short. The cafes have great food, the live presentations are fascinating, the permanent exhibitions are fun and informative, and the special traveling exhibits are always interesting. I strongly recommend the MOS to anyone planning to visit Boston in the near future.

Keep going back
We have had a membership for about 5 years and we just keep going back. We have 3 kids (now 6-14) and there is something for all of them. We go about 4 times a year and with the free passes that come with membership and the membership discounts it more than pays for itself. Also with the convenient parking garage and lockers we can bring our own lunch and not spend a lot of money when things are tight. The Discovery center has a great area for kids 5 and under but also has hands on info downstairs and up that our older kids enjoy as well.

Life changing experience.
I know that when I take my 16 yo son to the Museum of Science, since he was ~6yo, it inspires him to look on to the present and future. I believe that I have inspired him to a life of science and a good education. I work in the medical field and feel that I communicate with this teenager all that much more knowing that we have a common theme. When I was 14yo I went on a trip to Bookhaven National Laboratory. An experience I remember to this day. Thanks for giving us the communication we so much enjoy.

Always a great time!!
Naturally, we enjoy the exhibits, and they museum always impresses with new and interesting treasures. My kids loved the frogs, but "Cliff" was the show stealer, and Stephen, the amazing host in the fossil exhibit, kept 3 little boys coming back for more with interesting stories about fossils and dinosaur teeth. Best way to spend an afternoon with your family and really see your kids giggle and smile and have a fantastic time. Worth every cent.

WHAT A RIPOFF! BE PREPARED TO GET FLEECED!
I'm a native of Boston, and I've been to the Museum of Science many times. Today's visit was not only a huge disappointment with worn-down/old exhibits, but we were also fleeced $80.00 admission for myself, wife, and my two young daughters. To make matters worse, most of the "good" exhibitions required an additional fee to get in!! Top that off with a $11.00 parking fee! BIG disappointment. They should be ashamed for charging so much, especially in economically challenging times like this. DON'T BOTHER. Take your kids to the Childrens Museum, which charges ONE BUCK after 5pm on Friday.

Stimulating for toddlers and school age
With two adults there so we can split for age and interest this museum is a phenomenal and stimulating experience. The kids didn't even realize how much they were learning they were having so much fun. My 4-year-old's favorite is the waterfall play table in the preschool area where we played while my 8-year- old did an awesome Scavenger Hunt competition with his Dad. (pre-register for that and Night at the museum sleep overs.)

always something new
My son & I have been members since he was very young. There have been so many cool exhibits and activities over the years we have to keep renewing. Even though we are a family of 2 we have membership for 5 so we can bring more guests - especially to special exhibits and the free members only nights!! Now that my son is 21 he shares the museum and shows with his college friends and I have been turning on many new people to the MOS experience. I highly recommend the exhibit halls, omni theater and laser shows - membership is very reasonable and gives you tickets for all these things and many discounts. I am a big fan!!!!
