I remember this place . .
I have to travel to Philly from DC on business the next six weeks. I've been staying here for two weeks with noooo complaints. When I lived in Phillly (10 years ago) I think this place was all apartments/condos. No matter. For the less than $100/night rate, I love it!! The room windows open so you can have fresh air. The closet(s) are so large it's laughable. BR & kitchen - great. There are a wonderful mix of people who stay here. Lot's of european guests, kids & parent visiting colleges, tourists & the extended stay guests...there are a some aprtment renters here too.

Didn't Have Room! Terrible
We reserved our room about 2 and a half months in advance. Check in is at 3:00, we arrived at 12:00; they told us the room ready yet so they told us to walk around and come back, which we did. When we got back at 5:00 they had given our room away and simply said "sorry there is nothing we can do." We had reserved a one bedroom suite, they were trying to get us a regular room instead without caring. The man at the front desk was very rude and was yelling. After talking to the General Manager they finally gave us the room that we ordered, so they had the room all along!! Otherwise, the hotel room isn't terrible; it's in a good location but it seriously needs updating. The bathroom is dirty. I wouldn't come back!

Would recommend
Good location in center city Philly at an attractive price. We spent a week and enjoyed our stay. Kitchenettes include apartment-size fridge, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, and stove/oven. Lots of closet space -- 2 walk-ins and 1 hall closet. Nice view from the outdoor patio. Rooms not the most extravagant but clean and roomy. Service staff friendly. Good value.

I'd go back...but....
I thought the hotel was ok. The room was Incredible, the view was incredible, the location was incredible....but there isn't anything in the hotel to eat. The room service didn't exist...on Saturday morning the restaurants are closed. The free breakfast we were not even told about. I over heard someone talking about it. That consisted of those tiny sample boxes of cereal. The gift shop was closed. The bed was as hard as the floor. My friend slept on the couch because it was softer. We had to pay $24 for parking which I strongly think should have been included in the hotel price. Walking around the next day I noticed a parking garage literally right around the corner for $10.

Don't stay here
This is a very old hotel. The rooms are clean, but that's about all that you can say for them. The lighting is poor. The bathroom was old and creepy. There are these huge walk-in closets that were just weird. We only stayed there for about 10 minutes after which we checked out and checked into a nearby Marriott. Even though this cost me $178 that i couldn't get refunded from the Windsor. It was worth it just to be out of there. The Marriott only cost $50 more a night. If you can't afford the extra $50, you would be better off to find a Holiday Inn Express or similar hotel that is likely the same price, but much nicer than the Windsor. Don't be taken in by the convenient location. Turns out that location isn't everything.

I won't hesitate to go back!!!
I was concerned about using this hotel because of previous reviews. However, I liked the price, the location, and the current reviews were average at the time, so we took a chance. I'M SOOOO glad I did. The room was awesome. Sure it wasn't the Taj Mahal with gold leaf and servants at my every request... but it was spacious, very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, two LARGE closets, and the kitchenette was GREAT! Having a fridge is awesome because we were able to buy a few refreshments and keep them cold, and reheat leftovers. We got room service the first night and it to was FANTASTIC! It was an on site hotel restaurant, and it was the best LAMB and room service we've ever had. Every staff member was helpful, very plesant, and knowledgable. Finally, the location is perfect. You are close to the art museum, in site of the city hall and the historic (tourist) area, many other fabulous restaurants... and great coffee is about 3 minutes away (walking). If you don't mind a little walk, than you'll never need to pay for a taxi. Plus the city train is also close and easy. We highly recommend this hotel, and my husband and I will not hesitate to return. Thank you!
