Back to Hotel du Vin very poor value for money not 5 star Went to a private function 22nd dec. and food was very poor for money. Sprouts so hard you could not put fork in them. Meat was very tough. Also no choice of sweets etc. Drinks extortionate £8 for glass of wine. Very poor value for money. Would not recommend it.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 31 2007 Very Poor The standard of cleanliness in the rooms was very poor and certainly didn’t live up to the price tag. The food was abysmal; the staff were scruffy and looked very board probably because we were the only four people in the restaurant. The food was bland boring and my fish had probably been frozen.

Reviewed by: Paula from on Oct 23 2006 luxury The whole place is just oppulent luxury from the walk in humidore to the massive power shower in the room. Pricey so get the company to pay for this one if you can.
Reviewed by: V V from on Oct 11 2006 Noisy The room was lovely and the bathroom fantastic, but the traffic noise and revellers keep me awake most of the night. There are several bars and a club close by. Don't choose a front facing room, they all overlook a very busy road and unless you use earplugs you'll get no sleep.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 10 2006 dissapointed I found the meals were far too cold for my liking. The air conditioning was also very noisy through the night keeping me and my wife up, with the plumbing not capable of powering the huge showers they often boast about!NOT AS NICE AS ONCE THOUGHT!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 07 2005 Best food in Bristol My starter was a fantastically creamy piece of goats cheese on top a delicously crisp and fresh baby spinich and rocket salad, with a beautifully sharp mustard and balsamic dressing. For my main I had the best piece of game bird ive ever eaten (partidge), crispy but wonderfully tender. This was served with a meaty red wine jus and sweet celeriac purree. The dessert was better still, eton mess. A brilliant concoction of merangue, strawberry, thick cream and a strawberry coolie all mixed together and plonked on the plate with even more strawberry coolie. This was by far the best meal i have eaten in Bristol, nah in the UK. Go there for the out-of-this-world cuisine, but don't forget that there rooms are the best in Bristol as well.
