Fabulous, though expensive
Had the best table in the house. Ordered a hamburger and risotto, plus a bellini, of course. Waiters were extremely friendly, food was delicious, crowd was interesting.

Very disappointed
Visited Harry's Bat with 4 girls... after having a Bellini at Cortine Palace in Sermione very disappointed, no etiquette, served in a fruit juice glass & not fresh peaches at all but a made up cocktail... I bought a bottle in Venice for 2.50 euros in Venice & sure it was the same thing (although half the bottle) what a rip off , charged us 73 euros for 3 bellinis and 2 cokes .... avoid at all costs have a photo and have a drink elsewhere

Only if you want to.
This is the place where Americans used to gather back in the day when they were in Venice--Hemmingway being the most famous. If you're into visiting the old watering holes of the past, I think this is a fine place to stop and have one drink. The Bellini was invented here (peach juice and proscecco). They cost 15 Euro apiece--so plan on spending $45 for two 8 oz glasses of fizzy peach juice. The wait staff was fine when I was there and I enjoyed the 30 minutes I spent in the bar.

Skip It!
I was concerned after reading some of the negative reviews, but went there for before dinner cocktails anyway. On that Saturday evening, the staff was friendly and helpful. The bartender made a perfect martini. However, sitting at the bar I also could see that the supposedly famous Bellini was indifferently made using canned mix in a pair of extra large cocktail tins and poured like slop in a bucket. But, I did enjoy the bar for a couple drinks. I tried lunch the next day and experienced all the negatives others have mentioned. No welcome at the door, staff acting like I was interrupting their social life, indifferent service, food worthy of note only for being expensive relative to mediocre quality. I won't go there again. (I think it is worth mentioning, however, that this place is no relation to Harry's Bar in Rome, of which I am a big fan.)

Depends
If you are not attractive and on a budget, skip it. On the other had their fried shrimp is an extraordinary dish...we were seated near Mel Gibson, jerk. Had an incredible time and the GF even gave me a little something special....

VERY DISAPPOINTED
We were in Venice in July and one of the stops on our list was Harry's Bar. We arrived around 11:00am and the bar was empty. We were greeted by a very unfriendly waiter who took one look at my husband (he was in shorts -- it was 90 degrees Fahrenheit) and refused to seat us. I had read up on the bar before we left and NO WHERE is a dress code stated. They would have let me in with shorts but not my husband. We immediately walked out and will never return.

Just to say you been
I stumbled across this place literally....it was on my must see list for venice and I turned around it was there. Went in had the way to expensive Bellini but yummy....and it was exactly as I had envisioned....white jackets, black ties...delightful. In fact I witnessed a young couple get engaged...quite fun. Hell for 15 EUR a bellini let it out of your wallet just for the sheer enjoyment of saying you been, remember your on holidays!

Not impressed
It was just another restaurant. Paid over $100 for a pasta meal and a couple of glasses of wine! I think it is over-rated

A Costly Drink at Harry's.
Very small over-rated bar, way to expensive to drink there. We were 2 couples. One Whisky,2 Gins and 1 Bellini..60 euros. All drinks in this bar are very expensive!!!
