Wonderful for 1st time
This hotel was wonderful..It was our first time in New Orleans and this was the perfect place to stay. The staff was great very helpful, especially the doormen and our Bellman Rickey. The hotel was close to everything we had a wonderful time.

So much for the money! Beauty, class, and elegance
I have stayed in many luxury hotels and resorts. And for the price, this hotel is too good to be true! It is in a PERFECT location on Royal Street, directly behind Bourbon. It is within walking distance of EVERYTHING worth seeing and beside Dickie Brennan's, an amazing steakhouse restaurant. (If you are staying during Mardi Gras, request a room on the upper levels or not on the street, because it is obviously noisy.) The carousel lounge is quaint and original (a bar that spins like a carousel!). And there is no need to leave the hotel for breakfast- the buffet is pricey but phenomenal! They change the menu up and even if something was not on the buffet line- our wonderful waiter would make sure we got it anyways. Lastly, Spa Azria was not overpriced and very luxurious. All in all, this hotel is super clean and classy and the staff is very accomodatng. This is the only hotel in Nawlins I will ever stay in!

Very elegant, but not all that great!
This hotel looks very elegant when you first see it because it is very detailed from the outside. When you walk in the lobby and the carousel bar, they are very elegant and clean. All of the flowers and plants in there are real! But when my husband and I went to our room, on the 10th floor, we were not pleasantly surprised. The carpet was very dirty and it smelled. The couch and chair in there had some nasty stains on them. And like someone previously said, when they clean your room they will sometimes just pick your dirty towels off the floor and fold them back up so you can reuse them. I also didn't like that there are some guys outside that are supposed to open the door for you, but i had to open it myself most of the time because they walk around and talk to other people instead. Oh, and when you open the fridge in the room, don't pick anything up because it will automatically be charged to your accout. It is very expensive to get a drink in there.

Do NOT stay here if you have a car or children.
Even though we had reservations for 7 rooms for over 6 months, when we checked in first there was no parking available AND there were no rooms available. My brother and sister-in-law were sent to three different rooms, only to find them already occupied. We asked for two rollaways for the children. My brother finally got his at 11:00 pm, my son never did get a rollaway. We checked out, finally got our car and headed home only to find out that the hotel staff had wrecked our car while parking it. We contacted the Hotel as soon as we got home and were told the hotel was not responsible!

Wouldn't stay here again even if it was free
Upon arrival to the hotel, the parking was a mess. There were 5 of us traveling on 3 motorcycles. They made us park in a garage across the street in a back corner which wasn't even a parking spot. We parked all 3 bikes there. Then they informed us that parking would be $30 per bike! When my friend went to the front desk to complain, they told him to take it up with the garage people that they are not responsible for parking prices. We were turned away from the connecting parking garage because they said there were renovations, but there were other cars parked there and 3 bikes don't take up much room. I booked our room online and requested a smoking room. My husband will not stay in a hotel unless he can smoke in our room. Usually this is not a problem as smoking rooms are almost always available. When I was checking in and asked to make sure that we got a smoking room, I was told by the front desk attendant that the hotel is completely no smoking. This information was not listed on the website, and the website allowed to check a box to request smoking. The front desk people were not helpful, not polite and made me want to turn around walk out before even seeing the room. The rooms weren't terrible, but very small. The bathrooms even smaller. It would have been nice to have some room in the fridge to store our water and soda bottles but instead there was only enough room for the chosen items they stocked in there. Fridge is armed with sensors to automatically charge the room when picked up.

Worth the $, nice hotel, w/great view/decor
Very good place for a 2-3 day get away. Not right where the action is, a block away from Bourbon St., so not as noisey. Hotel had a great atmosphere and ambience Rooms were nice, decor very nice. Need to check out the Carousel Piano Bar and Lounge (it rotates/spins) and the roof top pool... Spend a little extra $$ for the Deluxe room w/the view and stay here! If you don't stay, at least go see the lobby!

Great Location
The hotel is one block off of Rue Bourbon, so it was a quiet location. I stayed on the 5th floor and could not hear any street noise. The room (suite) was clean and big. Well worth the money. You will not need a car if you stay at this hotel. Everything is within walking distance, including the street car stops to head down to the garden district or the zoo. There are plenty of taxis also.
