Back to Saint Louis Cemetery Number One This part of History! Born in New Orleans, but I hadn't been back for years. The Cemetery's are a part of NOLA's history. Tour guide or not there is no other Cemetery's like this in the U.S. Don' miss Meterie Cemetery either. Such history in all.
Reviewed by: 2totravel from on Aug 15 2009 very interesting!! It was a hot day and the guys from Magic Tours "Mark" where great and very very informative!! Wish the people that wrote on Marie Lavueus tomb would listen and not do that!! I really suggest that you go on a tour and not try and go alone the area is the projects and its very dangerous!
Reviewed by: RachelR from on Aug 05 2008 Full of History The Garden District where this cemetery rest is by its self beautiful and to tour the cemetery, read the various tombstones, talk with others there, and just take in all the sites was well worth the trip. Take pictures and read up on the history cause it is really interesting.

Reviewed by: shae from on Apr 15 2008 really unique The thing that shocked us the most during the tour, was when the Tour Guide told us about the stacking of Bodies in the above ground Graves. They just stack the next Generation on top, because of the shortage of Land.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 02 2008 WOW We had Eugenia as a tour guide on February 27th 2008 and though she didn't seem to know a lot outside of the tour she certainly knew how to keep the attention of us taking the tour. My boyfriend and I enjoyed it very much.
Reviewed by: SherrieA from on Mar 03 2008 No other city in America has cemeteries like this one Stunningly, haunting, creative, ancient. The graves are all above ground. The statuary is surreal. Amazing how much time, resources, and art went into the graves. New Orleans does everything with such abandon. Must see!
Reviewed by: Raymond from on Oct 28 2007 Well worth my $20.00 I toured this cemetary last July as part of a tour which I arranged through my hotel. The guide was excellent and provided a lot of history and humor throughout our two hour tour. I would highly recommend visiting this site as part of a tour, not alone.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 07 2007 Booooring I had read on different sites that this was boring and man should I have listened!! I wasted 120.00 on this snoozefest. The cemetary was pretty and kind of interesting but not for 2 hrs and our guide rambled on and on about weird things that had nothing to do with the cemetary. After the boring tour we went to the voodoo priestess and is that one cuckoo lady. She rambled on and on and I have no idea what she was talking about. Our whole tour group was like what the heck. Save your money and do not take a tour. If you really want to see the cemetary go during the tour hours alone and you'll be ok.
