Visited Montjuic in May 2008
Take the two day bus tour of Barcelona. It gives you an overview of the main tourist hot spots and allows you to get off and on where you please. The most we waited on a tour bus was 10 minutes. Please take the Montjuic stop. Montjuic offers beautiful view of the Barcelona bay and city. For the minimal price of the cable, the city gets the applause!

castle
Getting there is half the fun, subway to the Funicula(cable car), to the Gondola ride to the climb 200 yards plus to the outer park and vending stand where you get a free admission pass to the small cafeteria inside the Fort and Museum. Be sure and go up the upper levels for wonderful views of the city and harbor. You could spend considerable time just strolling around the grounds and enjoying the day!

Stunning Views
After taking in the stunning views of the city - which we dicovered was much bigger than we had imagined - we sat at the cafe in the warm sunshine and watched the world go by. It is a peaceful place and one we will be sure to visit on our next trip to this wonderful city.

Great Views
While hiking around the city me and my friend kinda stumbled upon this place and could not have been more fortunate. Its basically a sweet looking castle fortress at the top of a big hill. The view of the city is just amazing and you get to look out to the ocean. I would like to go back one day if i am ever in the Spain area.

horrible stenches lingered underneath my nostrils
The place was a bloody disaster. I don't know why anybody would ever want to go there. It smelt, the people were all poor and discourteous, and the price was astounding. I recommend that nobody ever goes there, or they will be sorry.

an unbelievable sight and sound
Visiting the Montjuic fountains at night is one of the most lasting and amazing memories of my travels. Usually a 20 minute "light show" then a 10 minute lull, then another show with different music. From delicate classical, to Freddie's Barcelona, to opera. The atmosphere is a delight, the event well-attended and the panorama of the city beyond is stunning. Watch one show close up to the fountains, and then another from the top outside the palace. (Be sure to check which evenings the shows are on)

Military / History nuts may like this place for its fortess layout and residual structures. For the rest of us, it's all about the views! Hike up the hill and you'll be rewarded with a panoramic picture of Barcelona.
