Great value & friendly too
Loved the location in an old part of town. In a nice quiet laneway. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Double en Suite room we had was excellent value for money too. Will use Kinlay Cork again if I get back to Cork - a great little city!!!

Would happily return...
I liked Kinlay House. It's location is very good. We stayed in an en Suite Private and it is as good as a Hotel or B&B I feel. Handy that you get a free breakfast. Liked the little garden at the back and the big Sycamore Tree out the front. The Graffitti is also interesting on steps up to hostel. Only problem we found is that they don't have enough en Suite privates really!! Good staff

State of the shower/bathroom
Should have seen the state of the bathroom/shower toilets totally grose. Other that that fine staff were nice and the room fine for the price

Disappointing Stay, we left early
Well first I should say that we left early also because Cork was so dissappointing, but we had no desire to stay in Kinlay Hostel for a second night. Although we booked online, when we arrived they asked us to pay again. Luckily, we avoided being charged twice. Then we were told where our room was- although we paid the rate for a private double room, we were put into a 14-bed dorm. The code for the door didn't work so the room was left unlocked with no place to store valuables. When we got inside, there was someone in one of our beds and an extra cot on the floor. The room smelled a little funky as well, which is to be expected when you pack that many people into a small space.

What a disappointment
We were welcomed by a condesencing receptionist who you'd swear we were putting out just by being there.
