This hotel is right in the heart of town, parallel to the canal which runs through town and only a few walking blocks to the beaches. You'll want to walk! Because there is so much to see. You don't need a car.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic. It is unbelievably beautiful. Walking down the stairs you feel like a king in your own castle with all the marble and the red carpet treatment on the stairs. The only problem is that the water running in the rooms is not clear when you first use it. It has a brownish tinge, which the hotel says is fine (and I am inclined to agree) and soon turns to clear. Put me off a bit when I first noticed. However, I have drank the tap water with no problems. I have stayed here many times, and I absolutely loved it. Don't pay full price, though. There are deals aplenty for this hotel. I have never paid more than 100 Euro per night. Winter time is especially good for deals.
