Back to Hotel Ritz Madrid Classical, but needs a refresh This is a grand hotel in the classical tradition of grand hotels, but is in dire need of some renovations. The rooms are elegantly appointed, but our shower didn't work - something we discovered first thing on Sunday morning. An engineer was found and he replaced the broken part, but for what you pay in this hotel, this is not a part of the routine you expect. Carpets have that tired and worn out look that's groaning for a replacement. As for other features of today's hotels, this has a business centre, but when you realize it consists of one PC stuck in a corner, you realize there is upgrading needed here too to bring this hotel properly into the 21st century. Service was fine, but a last disapppointed comment must be added regarding the location - unless you are there only to visit the local art museum or the stock exchange, the hotel is located somewhat out of the way.
