still going strong
The restaurant is now celebrating its 150 year aniversary and are under NEW management with TOP service and a scruptous new menue the king crab is a must - during summer you can sit outside on the charming patio and during winter dont forget to book way in advance for the famouse Norwegian "lutefisk"

Very good but expensive
Very good meal, we can recommend the fish soup. Very friendly and courteous service with a very old world feel. However, even by Norwegian standards, it is expensive.

we sat down, the waiter broght the menu, and asked the other waiter- do you have a tablecloth to wipe off the table???

Looking forward to my next visit!!
I loved the Engelbret Cafe for its lovely cosy atmosphere. The staff are friendly and courteous, and I found the Engelbret Cafe to be very relaxing.
