Great Location
The Hotel is located across the road from the Prada and 10 minutes walk from the Plaza Mayor. Would recommend it just for that. But the hotel is slightly run down, needs major refurbishment (my room door would not lock, therefore the key was useless and the door opened with just a shove). Don't ask the concierge for directions to the nearest restaurant, he does not know of any! service was very poor. Pricey for what it is.

Disappointed
The doorman who greets you, the clerk who checks you in and the concierge need to receive better training in how to handle consumers. The doorman doesn't get cab doors, etc. and you'd think he would as this hotel has automatic doors. The concierge is not well informed and has a limited knowledge of English though the clientele is mostly all from the English speaking world.

We would definitely stay here again
The location is fantastaic. Close to everything but away from the madness of Plaza Mayor or Puerta del Sol. The rooms are sleek, spacious and very comfortable. The hotel lacks a concierge but the front desk people are attentive and willing to assist. The original Roman mosaics are a distinctive attraction and a computer in the main lobby allows free internet and email access. We did not eat there but the bar and restaurant looked very nice. A true gem !!

Magnifico!
This hotel exudes refinement, luxury and class. The decor is modern but accented with beautiful ancient artifacts. The rooms were elegant, quiet and split level with rich wooden floors and classic furniture. Service was top notch, professional. The restaurant was an undiscoverd gem, we were treated royally. My partner and I went in January and paid half the listed price-ask for specials. Oh, and the location is great--centro, centro. Walk to everything.

Wonderful
Right by the top museums, Prado, Thessen, etc. Walking distance to train station and much more. Good staff, cool bar. The rooms are like suits with a bedroom and then a step down living area. Nice bathrooms. Room service is great and the staff is very helpful. The full breakfast each morning was huge, so many things to chose from. Across the street is a wonderful park with boating and playgrounds for the kids. Definately the place to stay when in Madrid.
