A trip to St. Kitts would not be complete without a visit to Brimstone Hill Fortress. Perfect for history lovers, and photographers.

but it was well worth the drive to get there - we had a funny thing happen as we were driving there our tour van got a flat tire and the driver had no clue how to change it. Thankfully there was a local gas station that had a mechanic that came to our rescue. The most remarkable thing is the view - spectacular lookout point, can see why they built it on that piece of land! It was a lovely tour and we enjoyed our time on St. Kitts and look forward to going back there!

Brimstone Hill was built high atop an escarpment. Although the fort was abandoned in the 1850s, restoration efforts have kept it in good shape. The view is impressive. One can help but imagine what it was like to have fired the canons at invading pirate ships.
