Highland Grounds is a warm, cozy venue that used to be strictly a coffeehouse. Now it serves beer and wine but the owners have managed to keep the granola crowd happy with poetry readings and live music nearly every night. Occasionally there's a cover and certain acts require a one-drink minimum. The crowd is unaffected by the Hollywood scene and, because of that, this is one cool joint to hang out in. It even has a patio for smokers. Excellent food is also available.
