A restaurant in the shadow of St James's Park, the home ground of Newcastle United Football Club, La Toscana has had a reputation for fine food and excellent service since 1973. Calling itself "the place of good taste", it offers a wide range of dishes to suit every palate, in pleasant surroundings that do not strive to look too obviously Italian (a pleasant change some might say). The menu is largely Italian, with wider mediterranean influences in evidence. Look out for the matchday specials, and offers on the lunch and early evening menus as well. La Toscana is on the first floor, and beneath it there is the caffe Toscana which is ideal for a coffee, a relaxing brunch or a snack.
