Overview

Museo dell'Opera di Santa Croce is located in rooms of the Convent of Santa Croce. You can see frescoes by Taddeo Gaddi and Orcagna which were rediscovered under the 16th century plaster. The most important piece is the large gilded bronze of San Lodovio di Tolosa which was made by Donatello in 1423. In the other rooms there are terracottas made by the Robbia family, the remains of the 14th century windows, and works by Bronzino, Vasari and other artists.

Burial place of Michelangeloby Yahoo | 2006-11-10 01:22:10 |

That's right it is the place where Michelangelo is buried. Entrance is free - just remember it is still a catholic church and your shoulders should be covered or they might deny you entrance. Amazing inside. There are plaques that mark the level of water in Florence when it flooded in 1966. The piazza is huge (during the winter they turn it into an ice skating rink). There are amazing statues and famous frescoes inside. If you plan to do visit Florence this is a must see...
