Overview

If you have never had deep-fried chicken gizzards and livers, the place to try that authentic Southern dish is the Farmer's Market Restaurant. You will find nothing "lite" or "lo-cal" at this casual restaurant. The meal starts with homemade cornbread. Try the hearty portions of beef stew, catfish or country-fried steak. Each meal comes with two vegetables, like turnip greens and black-eye peas. It does not take reservations, so if you show up at one of the busy times (like after church on Sundays), be prepared to wait. The dining room is smoke-free.
