Overview

The large, modern lobby is decorated mainly in beige and brown, and is a foretaste of what the 138 rooms are like; spacious, with light color furnishings and all modern amenities. An added convenience for those guests who will be staying longer is the kitchenette installed in some rooms. Although the Hôtel Century Genève does not have its own restaurant, breakfast is available. There is a shopping center and a health club up the street and it is close to the lake and main shopping and financial district.

"typical Geneva 3-star"by Yahoo | 2007-03-23 18:34:14 |

I stayed here for several nights on business. A European colleague summed up the hotel well: "It's a typical Geneva three-star -- the lobby is very nice but the rooms? Better to close your eyes." My room was clean and had a small but OK bathroom. However, there was peeling wallpaper in 2 areas and a general feeling of shabbiness. It sorely needed updating -- fresh paint and wallpaper would do wonders. Also, Internet access is second-rate. The hotel offers wireless in the lobby only (for a fee) and dial-up (for a fee) in rooms. This is the old, slow, plug-it-in-the-side-of-the-phone dial-up. Having said that, the staff is helpful and the breakfasts are decent. The location is near many of the Old Town areas that one might want to tour, and a tram runs near the hotel. Might do for a short tourist stay.
