Overview
This is a famous, 250-metre-long beach with black sand. It was here that the little port of La Madera was constructed, through which lots of goods entered Telde. As well as bathing and relaxing, you can take in one of the most spectacular natural, geological coastal formations around: El Bufadero, a basalt channel seemingly carved out of rock and connected to the sea by an underwater passage. As a result of the waves, a jet of pressurised water is sprayed high into the air, just like a geiser. Visitors can also see the cave known as Cueva de la Reina Mora (Moorish Queen's Cave) or the nearby San Borondón beach. For further details, phone the Tourism Office at the above number.
