Overview

Tasty, inexpensive, and casual, Geneva's is a popular lunch spot for businesspersons in downtown Freeport. The philosophy here seems to be food first, style second; the remnants of the Italian restaurant formerly located here can still be noticed. However, the home cooked Bahamian meals soon make the lack of aesthetic beauty easy to forget. Grouper, broiled, steamed, or fried and the pork chops are two of the most well received items. Many chicken, seafood, and beef dishes round out the menu. Save room for the side dishes. All entrees come with large portions. The house specialty is peas and rice which is sumptuous.

Can't wait to go backby Yahoo | 2010-02-25 19:26:45 |

Hi Cara, I saw your review and have to agree with all you said. The food was great. My husband and I were new to Bahamian cuisine and loved the conch fritters and Johnny cake. The boiled fish was good as well, but will be an acquired taste for us. All dishes were excellently prepared and presented. I even tried Goombay punch! Would definitely go back the next time I'm on the island!

Delicious food!!by Yahoo | 2010-02-15 01:59:36 |

Our table ordered conch fritters, boiled fish, corned beef with grits and johnny cake. We couldn't finish it all (4 of us) and the food tasted great! The waitress was a little slower than I expected, especially with a light crowd, but in all it was some great food. I can't wait to go back and try other menu items!!

I hated Geneva's Place. The service was terrible and the waiter took over an hour to get our food when it wasnt even crowded. After waiting for the food it was burnt and undercooked. It was the worst restaurant in the Bahamas and I am never going back there again.
