Imagine stretching out under the stars at an elevation of more than 8,700 feet. At this campground, the Arizona sky seems close enough to touch. Campers may choose from 22 scenic tent sites with grills, picnic tables, drinking water and toilets. Best of all, the Grand Canyon's North Rim yawns in open-throated glory just seven miles south. Sites rent for USD10 per vehicle, per night. Gasoline, telephones, basic supplies and a restaurant are close by at Grand Canyon Lodge. Campground is open from mid-May to early November, depending on snowfall.
