Overview

Occupying an entire block in the centrally located Vedado district, this is arguably one of Havana's most famous hotels. The establishment's impressive surroundings are somewhat eclipsed by its decorative lobby, adorned with ornamental tiles, sculptures and a singular architectural style. Built in 1930 and renovated in 1962, some of the hotel's more celebrated guests have included Sir Winston Churchill, Frank Sinatra and supermodel Naomi Campbell. Often used for local conferences, it is also the venue for Havana's annual New Latin American Film Festival. The rooms are quite large with decoration kept to a minimum.
