Overview

Lan Kwai Fong was once an "expat hangout," but locals have gradually joined in the party fun. Centered around an L-shaped cobblestone lane just above the Central business area, Lan Kwai Fong houses some of the trendiest pubs and entertainment hangouts in town. Every year, during Christmas, New Year's and Halloween, people dress up and parade through the streets. But, whatever the time of year, Lan Kwai Fong is definitely a fun place to see and to be seen.

Like 6th Street In Austin TX.by Yahoo | 2007-03-13 16:07:12 |

My sister-in-law took us out here and we had a blast! Even though it rained a bit... We found a covered patio at a place called The Marlin. Beer prices were not too bad and we found watching all the freaks walking up and down the cobble paved street a laugh-riot:) I recommend it as a good drinking stop while you visit Hong Kong at night. We Americans felt very welcome!!

Cars aren't allow to drive into this place. Walk along the red street, I can see it was a place for people who like alcohol to hang out. I am not sure whether if Lan Kwai Fong was built at the foot of the moutain. However I can say, it has a good vibe at night. The vibe here is good.

I equate LKF to the likes of Bourbon St in New Orleans!! Not the flashing part, but that everyone is in the streets drinking and having a good time...Bulldogs is a great place to watch Rugby!

Lets go party.....by Yahoo | 2006-02-13 04:31:23 |

Best place you can party in Hong Kong, apart from Wan Chai. However, LKF is a place with plenty of different bars and all kinds of entertainment. Close to LKF are other small streets with bars for any kind of genre. Close by is the Dragonseye which is usually the place of celebrities to hang out. If you're lucky you can see a star there like Mick Jagger, ManU, etc. However, don't forget to bring your savings along, as well as a "back-up-credit-card". You will need it. Hong Kong is not a cheap place to be, but the prices are average and sometimes below average. A beer will cost you usually between 5.5 and 8 USD during normal hour and approx. 3 - 4 USD during happy hour.

Drink and be Merry!by Yahoo | 2005-04-15 23:21:37 |

A fantastic atmosphere on Saturday nights, especially durring the annual Hong Kong Rugby 7's tournament. So many westerners every where that you could be anywhere, but your in Hong Kong! One of the true great cities in the world.

Each bar is small, but you'll definatly be feeling it if you visited every one of 'em in one night. Great atmosphere, reasonably priced...Have a go, it won't hurt!!

The Place For Ex-pats To Hang Outby Yahoo | 2004-11-27 12:48:53 |

As an ex-pat living in Hong Kong, I can say Lan Kwai Fong is the place to hang out for westerners. The place really gets going after 10:00PM. While known as an ex-pat hangout, locals come to mingle with ex-pats too. It's not all bars though, good restaurants are there too with Chinese, Mexican, American, Japanese, Thai etc.
