Overview

Nathan Road, named after governor Sir Matthew Nathan, runs directly up to Boundary Street, the northern limit of the British colony prior to the leasing of the New Territories in 1898. Since everyone thought such a wide road was unnecessary at that time, Nathan Road became known as "Nathan's Folly." Today, this is one of the busiest commercial roads in Hong Kong; the lower end of the road is known as the Golden Mile because of the plethora of storefront neon signs. A walk along Nathan Road will reveal a shopping paradise with many boutiques, camera shops, street markets and restaurants crammed in side-by-side.

Loved Nathan Roadby Yahoo | 2008-11-21 13:49:00 |

Nathan Road is a blast. I stayed at the Prudential in Feb.,08. All the places to eat. All the shopping you could ever want and more. I only stayed 2 nights but you can be sure that next time I go will be for a few nights more. Hong Kong is a wonderful city.

Stayed in a hotel(Prudential) Nathan Road for 3 days, 4 level shopping center was at the lower floor of our hotel, My wife had the time of her life shopping along Nathan Road and in all the markets nearby. We loved eating dimsum at the ground floor of a hotel across the street(Shamrock) for breakfast. Best dimsum we ever tasted.

Good Food on Nathan Road, Hong Kongby Yahoo | 2008-03-19 06:50:38 |

Tried a restaurant called "Shamrock Seafood Restaurant", next to Shamrock Hotel on Jordon, Nathan Road! GREAT FOOD, especially the traditional homemade "roasted dishes", BBQ Pork, MUST TRY, I've tried the stream fish and the sweet and sour shrimp as well; fish, very fresh and the shrimp, tasty! Most importantly, not expensive!

We can't wait to go backby Yahoo | 2007-01-24 05:35:50 |

The street is bustling with people looking for great bargains. We had to spend at least a good day here looking. I surely bet most people will be back again to get more goodies. A lot of things to savour and try and for Muslims good news as the Mosque is nearby located at Jordan street a couple of blocks away. Halal restaurants too and available at Jordan Street. Good time spending looking for gifts and clothing. One must know how to bargain to get the best deals around here. Remember the best place to check out would be the Woman's Street and the Temple Street. The best deals and smells would be at Temple Street. It leads all the way to Jordan street and you could find a lot of restaurants and eating joints.

like the shopping area around Nathan Road and the food selection is fantastic. it's always crowded and no space to walk the street is too narrow you almost have to bump someone's back in order to walk sometimes.
