Overview

Tai Fu Tai is the only remaining Mandarin's House in Hong Kong. Built in 1865 during the Qing Dynasty, this elegant house was the residence of Man Chuen Luen, who had the title of Tai Fu (Chinese for "Great Man") bestowed on him because of his munificent works. Tai Fu Tai is famous for its fine architectural decorations—restoration was completed in 1988 and served to return this monument to its original grandeur.

A peek into the pastby Yahoo | 2006-02-02 19:43:17 |

I really liked the atmosphere. It was like stepping into the past. It's restored very nicely. The odd thing was that a lot of the heads were missing when I was there (March 2003). We spent around 1.5 hours in and around the house. I took a lot of pictures. I have visited HK many times and seen nearly everything. This was one of my top 5 experiences in HK
