The place is a great place for daytime sports watching on big screen satellite TV's. Night time it rocks with live bands playing mixed classic rock or alternative rock every night. There was no cover charge and the drinks were reasonable.

My husband was stationed in Kaneohe Bay for 5 years. We always enjoyed going to the Irish rose because it was a great place to catch a great live band without the rowdy get drunk and throw up crowd. Free to get in, and the drinks aren't badly priced. Small dance floor accomidates those who feel like getting loose. The music is loud enough to enjoy and you don't have to yell to hold a conversation. You'll see a lot of regulars at this bar because it's one of the best. If you want to spice things up a bit, you can go across the street to the Lyon (something) and pay a cover and yell to your date all you want. Speaking of dates. If you're on a date, keep a couple of extra dollars in your pocket as you'll likely see the women come around selling roses. Just remember that sometimes a drunk guy will buy them all up for the women before you get a chance.
