Overview

Ibiza's so-called "feixes" are a magnificent example of what Arab culture brought to the island. They are a network of watering channels that supplied water to a whole series of enclosed vegetable plots, creating areas of fertile land that are now protected because of their high ecological value. During the time of the Arabs, these plots produced fresh vegetables for the city. The walk along the paths that used to link the plots is a pleasant one. You can also see the main gates to the plots, although many of them have fallen into a state of disrepair.
