This gigantic panoramic painting was painted in the 20th century and a very famous attraction in the city.. It took Munich artist Michael Zeno Diemer three months to complete. The painting depicts the Battle of Berginsel in 1809, when the Tyroleans defeated the forces of Napoleon. Particularly noteworthy are the features of the painting which depict the battle-weary faces of the heroic Tyrolean farmers who led their army to victory.
