Overview

The popular mountain hut Bettelwurfhütte near the town of pilgrimage Wallfahrtsort Absam, in the wild and romantic Halltal valley at 2,077m above sea-level is the start and finish for many climbing and hiking tours in the surrounding mountains. Hikers may want to chose the Großer Bettelwurf at 2,250m or the Kleiner Bettelwurf as their targets. Furthermore, there are trails leading from the Stempeljoch to the Pfeishütte and from the Lafatscherjoch to the Hallangerhaus. The owner Christian Gschnitzer welcomes his guests with Tyrolean hospitality and traditional cuisine. After a demanding hike, this is the ideal place to take a rest and relax. Four "mattress storages" offer ample space for overnight stays.
