Overview

The cultural city, situated approximately 10 km in the east of Innsbruck, is among the best kept historic old-cities of Austria. Lovely facades of the bourgeois-houses and the narrow crooked alleys of the old city, should not be missed. Connected with the city history, is the time of salt-mining and minting, that was transferred in 1477 from Meran to Hall in Tyrol. The "Guldiner" was once the greatest silver-mint of the world. Beside the international cultural events and hospitality, many historic sights, for example the "Münzerturm" (mint-tower), the "Bergbaumuseum", the Gothic St. Niclas church or the "Damenstift Kloster Herz Jesu", Hall in Tyrol offers itself as a manifold shopping mecca too.
