Overview
Located in the beautiful San Marco historic district, this is Jacksonville's king of live music with hot new bands and DJs, both local and national. The venue is home to jazz, country, rock 'n' roll, hip hop, funk, and blues. It is also known for hosting CD-release parties for up-and-coming groups. Visitors of all ages are welcome, but you must be over 21 to drink from the bar, which serves beer and wine. It is an intimate pub, so quarters are tight on busy nights. Open daily from 8p onwards.
freakin awesome... good atmosphere, nice bar, close stage and easy to see.
Quaintly excellent venue in the Bold New City of the South. Small (300 heads or so) but a perfect place to see indie rock bands that never seem to come to Jax. I saw Cracker, The Secret Machines and Frank Black all at a great price. Reasonably priced Newcastle on draft is a plus. But the pint glasses should be made of plastic. Potentially litigious lacerations may occur when the pit is in full throttle mosh mode. This place is the kind of venue that indie rock is all about. Underground culture, hazy, tasty brew and great acoustics will put the band right in your face. Check it out!
kinda cool, a little backwater place. have good shows, web site could be improved ie list their upcoming shows, but you have to call to see who is playing. anyway worth it for the right band. ds
