Visit white rhinos, crocodiles, lions and more on a Plains of Africa tour at The Jacksonville Zoo. An overlook area allows visitors to observe elephants and giraffes. Native Florida wildlife can also be seen, including the jaguar, endangered Florida panther and American alligator. There is so much to see here that you should allow an entire day to catch it all! Disappointing--Very Disappointingby Yahoo | 2009-01-02 02:15:33 |

I love animals and I always enjoy trips to a zoo. Well, almost always. The Jacksonville Zoo was very disappointing. The exhibits areas were small and poorly maintained. Unlike other zoos, the walking areas were poorly landscaped and unattractive. I have been to the zoos in San Diego, Cinncinatti, Chicago, New York (Central Park), Toronto, and Detroit, all of which far exceeded the Jacksonville Zoo. Both the zoo's animals and patrons deserve better.

Always Funby Yahoo | 2008-12-19 00:29:52 |

Always lots to see at the Jax zoo. We went again on 13 December and the Jaguar was out...always cool to see. If you go now, they have the Stingray exhibit. The kids can pet the stingrays, which is way cool. This attraction is easy to do in 1/2 of a day. There are also several other activities close by such as: Huguenot Park (drive on the beach), Little Talbot and Big Talbot State parks and more. The Jacksonville Zoo and all these parks are highlighted in a "Jacksonville Great Outdoors" at madcowmemories.com/resources.

Nicest Zoo I have ever been to!by Yahoo | 2008-11-01 14:06:33 |

Very Clean, lots of animals, less pavement than in regular zoos. Great family location. Beautiful combination of animals and the environment/gardens.

fantastic zoo!by Yahoo | 2008-07-22 23:36:29 |

this zoo was the best. i have been to the washington zoo and i thought that was the best but this topped them all. the animals were so close that the kids did not want to move on to other exhibits. the monkeys were the best. my kids were so fasinated how close they were and we were there for a half hour interacting with them. everything about the zoo was great. we were really impressed.

Great Placeby Yahoo | 2008-02-27 06:07:03 |

Great place to take the kids. Place is clean. There are alot of animals. The plants and gardens are beautiful too. Kids loved feeding the giraffe. Our experience has been great every time we come

Nice placeby Yahoo | 2007-11-26 18:23:01 |

This place is really good. I liked everything of it. Perfect place for a daytrip and spend the whole day with your family. Nice learning place for kids.

I would love to go back!by Yahoo | 2007-05-24 15:05:49 |

The zoo was so much fun. Seeing all the animals and riding the train was awsome. The only thing I regret was getting there only 3 hours before it closed. Going there is really a full day thing. I can only imagine if I had a full day there. I could have seen all the animals. Oh and you also want a camera! Camera phones do not work that well. All the animals were awsome. And the food, I ate at one of the sit down restaurants. Not the Trout river grill, the other one. My boyfriend and I had the burritos. They were really good. I would definitly go back there if i had a chance.

When was the last time you went to the zoo?by Yahoo | 2007-05-04 03:07:46 |

You don't have to be a little kid to enjoy the zoo! It's not free anymore but it is so much better than before. Bring your camera and test your photography skills. Don't forget to check out the butterfly garden. You just never know who you might run into there !

We love the Zoo!by Yahoo | 2007-01-03 03:56:18 |

My family loves this Zoo. The animal exhibits are so nice and easy to look at. The new play place offers a nice distraction for the kids from walking all day. And in the summer the water park is awesome! The food is pricey and a bit boring, but we expect that much. We bought a membership and have enjoyed it very much, it is very much worth the price. We visit every couple of months and enjoy every trip.

New Membersby Yahoo | 2006-08-03 15:33:49 |

We love the Jacksonville Zoo, especially since they put in the new Kids Play Park with a small water/sprinkler park. It is a great place for the kids to cool off and the parents to take a breather. We like it so much that we became members, which even adds to the great value.
