Overview

Located in the internationally renowned valley of Kromdraai, the cave lies amidst famous archaeological and palaentological sites containing the oldest recorded human remains. This natural wonder has only been open to the public since 1991 and is decorated with rock and crystal formations dating back millions of years; the cave itself has been in existence for 2,200 million years. Hourly tours are conducted by competent guides along well-lit pathways, and no crawling is necessary.

Magnificent experience! Once in a lifetime chance to see amazing Stalactites and Stalagmites that have been forming for billions of years. The ride down on a open lift in the dark was out of this world, and once in the cave, walking around and seing what nature has done for many many years was awesome. I recommend it to anyone. The visit was certainly worth it. Braise yourself for a marvelous experience.

The Wondercave is the 3rd largest cave in South Africa. It is a nice experience to be in a cave which is 4.5 billion years old! and the cave is still active which can be felt being inside... Also the growth of Stalactites and Stalagmites confirm the age of the cave to 4.5 billion years! Shouldn't miss that!
