Overview

The main attraction here would be the Tanjung Balau Fishing Village Museum, which was built in 1985 to showcase the life of a typical fisherman. Just five kilometers north of Desaru, beside the Desaru beach, lies the fishing village. This unique attraction lets privileged tourists experience first-hand the authenticity of a Malay fisherman, his family traditions and the warm hospitality of the villagers. In fact, one can even choose to stay with one of the local families. For the less adventurous, there are dormitories available.
