Our Honeymoon couldn't have been more beautiful!by Yahoo | 2008-11-12 17:55:08 |

Beautiful view! Breakfast buffet was tops! Clean comfortable room! Excellent staff...very friendly! Booked through Pleasant Holidays...best deal for the money! HIGHLY recommend!

Most of these reviews are not Waipouli!by Yahoo | 2008-02-11 02:17:57 |

Waipouli Beach Resort is a brand new resort that opened January 2007. It has top of the line amenities and is absolutely beautiful. It's on the eastern shore of the island. From December thru April you will see the whales jumping in the ocean right off your lanai. You will probably see a monk seal or two as well. You are half way to the north part of the island and half way to the south. An excellent location if you want to tour this paradise island. It is across the street from a Safeway, Star Bucks, Cold Stone Creamery, etc., so you are always able to get what you need. It's easier to walk to the stores than drive. Excellent vacation resort and WELL worth the money for the ocean front or ocean view units. The rooms are pure luxury and the pool and spas are supurb!

Nice Interiors, but need Service to match...by Yahoo | 2007-01-28 08:01:42 |

Pros: Location Interior of Lobby & Rooms Parking High Speed Internet (Wired or Wireless) Cons: Traffic in surrounding Kapaa Subpar Service Non-Swimming beach, adjacent to property Small in room Restroom The Makaiwa is a beneficiary of a Marriott renovation a couple of years back. When walking through the corridor and staying in your room, you feel like your in a Marriott property. The service staff, despite being friendly, seems too laid back and not as attentive for this type of property. SGS 012707

Rescued usby Yahoo | 2006-09-15 15:55:51 |

We went to Kauai for our Honeymoon Sept 2006. The original place we stayed, we were VERY un happy with..It was not the cleaniest and a little scary. We found resortquest and decided it couldn't get any worse!!! What a GREAT experience we had with them. When they heard what a bad time we had they gave us a room with a veiw, free of charge. Everyone their was more then willing to make our stay enjoyable. We got the room with the breakfast package..WELL WORTH IT!! We would eat a BIG breakfast go on a tour and were able to skip lunch, which saved us tons of money. They staff was also willing to help us book tours at the lowest rates. They gave suggestions to what to do and made it a priority to make sure we were enjoying our HM. i would recommend this hotel hands down!!! Would stay here again if we ever get a chance to go back to Kauai...

great home base!by Yahoo | 2006-05-23 04:06:12 |

a great place to base your kauai vacation -- halfway between everything. budget luxury if you get water FRONT room. Well worth the upgrade price to hear and see the ocean from your bed.

A birthday reviewby Yahoo | 2005-10-05 18:41:40 |

Me and my wife stayed the latter part of Sept. to the begining of Oct. This is a fantastic courtyard Marriott hotel. It even rivals the Marriottt San francisco (airport) in size of rooms and views. The staff are friendly and prompt with requests. The resturant staff and food are a must try. I had the deep fried sushi for starters (great value) I also had the 12 oz prime rib (looked to be 20oz+) boy that was good. The previous reviews said that this hotel was under constructions but no longer. The hotel is good looking, clean relaxing with a great staff. A ++

Great place to stayby Yahoo | 2005-08-13 21:27:55 |

We read all the poor rating of prior visitors and were a bit worried but that was soon dashed. After arrival we found all the construction over and the renovation is outstanding. Rooms are appointed well and comfortable. The location is great, centrally located on the Island. The beach is beautiful but not swimmer friendly, pool & spa handle that well. Restaurant is very good, evening meals are outstanding with great servers. We visited a lot of hotels while here but this one is the one we will return to again & again. Weather was perfect. get it together please....by Yahoo | 2005-07-11 04:13:29 |

got to the hotel,,still under construction,we were not told it was being worked on and many of the ammenities were not available..supposed to have wifi..the wifi signal was so weak that we could not use it,(kept getting kicked off line)no one at the desk knew what wifi was or how to fix it..they charged us a dollar everytime we picked up the phone in the room, local calls also,as well as 800 numbers, local internet dial-up #.. very disappointed when the room was over$250 a night.will be nice when they get it together as the rooms look nice...

Our first anniversaryby Yahoo | 2005-05-18 20:22:22 |

Rooms were beautiful, new and nicely decorated. There was no lobby yet the day we arrived, but there was lots of construction going on and in the morning there was a lobby complete with funiture. Nicely Done! However, we were not informed of all this and we were disturbed several times in the evening and again in the morning by the testing of fire alarms. Not very relaxing. We tried to use the Hot tub after a long day only to find out is was closed by 6:00p.m. We were very disappointed in that. The service was mediocre. We asked for an iron and received one but it was removed from our room before I got the chance to use it. We asked for a hair dryer, which they had, but failed to bring up. Later in the day, when we returned to our room and called again for one, and they had none left. I normally only stay where Irons and blow dryers are in all rooms, being a Marriot, we figured it would be there. I understand you were under changes, it looked like it will be beautiful when finished, but I do think with all the inconveniences you had at that time, service would have been better. I must say the vallet parking service was excellent. They were responsive and friendly and extremely helpful.

Won't do that againby Yahoo | 2005-02-26 20:58:26 |

Stayed 20-25 February website says renovations to be complete in Feb. also every room has free internet access. Well, they still aren't finished with renovations, and the only internet access that they had was in the lobby which was slower than dial-up. The bar, business center, day spa, and restaurant are not finished either. The location was pretty good it is right on the beach, they have a luau every night except mondays which is $62/person. Luckily it was a business trip for me so I didn't have to pay for the room.
